On this lovely tour of Italy North and South with Lake Garda and Lake Como you will also visit Siena, Florence, Verona, Venice, Milan, Cinque Terre, Lucca, Pisa, Montepulciano, Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento Capri and Rome.

DAY 1  Sunday ROME – SIENA – FLORENCE
Departure to Florence at 8 a.m.Our first stop in SIENA , the beautiful medieval city renown for its late Gothic city hall and unique town square, the Piazza del Campo, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the yearly Palio horse races take place every July.  Continue on to FLORENCE. Dinner and overnight in Florence.

DAY 2 Monday  FLORENCE
After breakfast at the hotel we will take you on a guided sightseeing tour of this Renaissance art city to see the beautiful Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. John, and Santa Croce, the 13th century Franciscan Church with Cimabue’s famous crucifix. The afternoon is at leisure for optional sightseeing tour to PISA or walking around the city often called: the Cradle of the Renaissance or to visit museums. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 Tuesday FLORENCE – VERONA – VENICE
After breakfast we depart for Venice with a stop in Verona.  Explore the streets of this UNESCO World Heritage-site with the ancient Roman arena, built in 30 A.D. It is well preserved and hosts  over 30,000  people  for  international  music  concerts. Next, head to the former home of famed opera singer, Maria Callas. Then move on to Juliet’s House, the structure that inspired Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Wander back to Piazza Bra and have time for lunch. Proceed to Venice, travel by boat till Saint Mark’s square and meet the local guide who will show you the most  important buildings such us the Doge’s Palace, the Campanile, the Clock tower, the Library. Walk in the hidden Venice, to admire its back alleys, lovely canals, picturesque squares where take place  everyday life and the structure of the city. Reach Rialto bridge over the Grand Canal: the heart of the city with its market area. At the end of the visit have a lovely walk to your hotel for check in and enjoy dinner in a local restaurant. DAY 4 Wednesday  VENICE – MURANO
Breakfast, then morning tour by boat to the nearby islands. We will cross the lagoon with a view of the islands and reach the island of Murano famous for it fantastic glass works, where you will have a demonstration of glass blowing.  Return to Venice where you will have the afternoon to yourself  to visit museums, galleries or to try one of the gondola rides. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5 Thursday VENICE – LAKE GARDA – LAKE COMO – MILAN
Breakfast, then morning departure by coach to charming SIRMIONE on the shoes of beautiful lake Garda, one of the most scenic and inviting gems of Italy. Free time for lunch and walk around the town. In the afternoon, we continue to an other famous lake, scenic Lake Como for a panoramic tour by bus. In the evening arrival in Milan. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Milan.

DAY 6 Friday MILAN -LA SPEZIA -PORTOVENERE-VERNAZZA-MANAROLA-LUCCA
A morning departure to  ‘CINQUE TERRE’ is an area suspended between sea and land, hanging from sheer cliffs surrounded by hills and vineyards.  You will enter into a little piece of heaven. By touring the coast line by boat, you will have the possibility to admire this amazing landscape from the ocean. (In the event of rough sea, the visit will be done partly by coach and partly by train.)  During the tour, the boat will reach Porto Venere . Then you will reach la Spezia by train and from there a private motor coach to reach Tuscany, with a stop in LUCCA. Walk on the cobblestone streets, explore squares and old Renaissance walls; and see the birthplace of local composer Giacomo Puccini. Admire the medieval buildings along Via Fillungo, peek inside San Frediano church and visit landmarks like the Cathedral of San Martino, Piazza Anfiteatro and Torre delle Ore. At the end of the walk transfer to hotel for check in. Dinner and overnight in Lucca  Meals: B,D

DAY 7 Saturday LUCCA – PISA – MONTEPULCIANO – ROME
Today we visit PISA, where you see heart of the city on your own. Admire the Cathedral Square with Duomo di Pisa, Campo Santo, Pisa Baptistry, and, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa – UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you have free time for lunch and shopping and in the afternoon depart to VAL D’ORCIA, famous for its superb wine production and for the amazing Tuscan landscapes. Enjoy a stop in Montepulciano, the symbol of the power and wealth of the noble families from the 14th to 16th centuries. Be enchanted by the Piazza Grande with the magnificent Duomo and Palazzo Tarugi; continue and see the Fortezza and the Church of Santa Maria dei Servi, one of the symbols of Renaissance art. Montepulciano is well known for the great production of red wine, it’s “Nobile di Montepulciano” is one of the most appreciated Italian wines in Italy and abroad. Montepulciano has a distinct peculiarity, here you can find several historic cantinas right within the city walls, which have been dug out underneath the prestigious palazzos. We will then proceed to Rome  and arrive around 7.30p.m. Check in and overnight at the hotel in Rome  Meals: B

DAY 8 Sunday ROME – NAPLES – POMPEII – SORRENTO
Departure to Naples at 7 a.m. by coach with a multilingual tour leader. Upon arrival in Naples the local guide will take you for a walking tour of the historical center to see the PIAZZA DEL PLEBISCITO, ROYAL PALACE, GALLERY OF UMBERTO I, and the SAN CARLO OPERA HOUSE. From Naples, we continue to POMPEII, where we stop at a coral and cameo factory. We will have lunch at a typical restaurant, followed by a visit of the excavations of this ancient Roman city which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvio in 79 b.C. and buried under 4 to 6 meters of ash and stones.  Walk on ancient Roman streets and see that some of the buildings still have surprisingly well preserved rooms with frescos. Continue to SORRENTO, Queen of the Sorrentine Coast settled among oranges, lemons and olives trees. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Sorrento.

DAY 9 Monday SORRENTO – CAPRI – SORRENTO
8 a.m. departure to the island of Capri. You will board the ferry and arrive at the Grand Marina from where you visit the famous BLUE GROTTO (weather permitting). Continue to the AUGUSTUS GARDENS, then stop at the famous “Piazzetta”. A Minibus will take you up to top of the island to ANACAPRI for beautiful views. After lunch in Anacapri, you will return to Marina Grande where you will board the boat for your transfer back to Sorrento. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Sorrento.

DAY 10 Tuesday SORRENTO – ROME
Enjoy the morning at your leisure to explore Sorrento or have an optional tour to discover the Amalfi coast visiting Positano, Ravello and Amalfi. Meeti at 2.30-3.00p.m. in the hotel lobby and transfer to Pompeii where you will join the coach to come back to Rome. Arrival in Rome around 9.00 p.m.  and the end of service (drop off guarantee in Termini Station / Barberini Square /).  Meals: B
